Sunday Vegan Dinner

Okay - I just had to share this with you guys! My son is a vegan - which grossly (emphasis on "gross") limits his food choices. In addition to this, our relationship has been greatly strained the past few years. A few weeks ago, I felt God stirring my heart to reach out to him and his friends by making them a homemade vegan meal. I did just that recently and it was SO GOOD I just had to share it with you! I visited a website called allrecipes.com (Thanks Shanti!) to find some worthy recipies and found these. The photos really don't do them justice. It was really good! (Click on the titles to see the recipies.)

  3. Looks great! I am sure it tasted fabulous...and you should be proud! I bet it is extremely difficult to raise a teenage boy (UGH!) -in addition to satisfing his and his friend's tastebuds. :)

  4. My 2 1/2 year old daughter is severely allergic to dairy and vegan is our only alternative for her. The diet is a nightmare! : ) That bread looks awesome. Thanks for the idea!!!

  5. Did you follow the vegan brownie recipe, or did you change it to use less oil? And did you like them? They get some mixed reviews. Thanks!!!

  6. Cara,
I don't have access to your profile or email - so I hope you get this....
Sorry about your daughter. That's got to be really hard on her. It seems most recipes can be modified easily. Soy instead of milk, oil instead of butter, etc.
As far as the brownies go, I made them according to the recipe. They were very fudgy-gooey. I didn't try them personally, but heard they were good. I always try a recipe exactly as is first and then modify if necessary next time.
My son now buys a lot of the frozen foods for ease and convenience. (Very expensive!) But cooking whole foods is always better all around!
    Hope that helps!
