Artfully Sent Friendship Bags!

This weekend, I am going with some friends to Amish country in Ohio. Just the girls! We are staying at Marbeyo Bed and Breakfast - it's a 100 acre Amish farm! Our house is separate from the main house, but they deliver breakfast right to our kitchen! You KNOW how much I love good food - I'm salivating as I type this!

Anyway, Tina purchased goodies to go in a bag and I designed the bags to surprise the others with! Just a little something to celebrate our mini-getaway!

I used our NEW Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge for the front of the bags. And since I used my Cricut Explore to cut out the pieces, I was able to choose one of my favorite fonts right from my computer called Pacifico for the sentiment!

I added just a hint of bling on the flowers and on the tulle tied to the handle.

Here are the Artfully Sent images I used:

Pg. 31 Scene-Shift

Pg. 37 - Pocket Card

If you have a Cricut Explore and the Artfully Sent Cartridge, here is the Design Space file all ready for you to cut from! If you don't own the cartridge yet, you NEED this collection of 700 images, a full pack of white cardstock, and 3 coordinating stamp sets! This collection has a retail value of nearly $120 but is yours for only $99! Click the image below to order yours today!

The Artfully Sent cartridge is really for SO MUCH MORE than just cards! You can use it for anything!

Happy Creating!

Pathfinding Club Cards!

In November my clubs will be working on our Pathfinding Card Kit.
We are making 15 cards/envelopes (5 each of 3 designs).

Here is the first design - perfect for anytime you need a thank you card!

I've used the woodgrain embossing folder on the glacier cardstock and kraft paper. And I love how there is just about 1/8" of bronze shimmer trim peeking out from under the cardstock!

Here is the second design:

I've also embossed the glacier cardstock with the woodgrain embossing folder here too. The addition of "happy fall" makes these cards perfect for this time of year! And I'll show you how to get a two-toned ink look with your sentiment.

Here is the third design - I love the combination of fonts and colors on this card!

The Basic Kit is only $15 and includes:
15 cards/envelopes
Paper and cutting guide
Bronze Shimmer Trim
Gold Sequins

The Deluxe Kit is only $25 and includes:
the basic kit contents PLUS
a color guide
and an exclusive stamp set valued at $17.95!

Contact me if you'd like to join one of my clubs - either locally or long distance!

Studio J Framed Heritage Layout and Special!

Studio J is such a wonderful program - from the time saving pre-designed layouts, to the freedom to create from scratch! But another thing I love Studio J for is for portraits!

Here is a portrait of my great-grandmother that came from a standard sided photo found in a box. I scanned it into Studio J, and loaded it into a layout called No Limits an it instantly converted it to a 12x12 portrait!

I love how you can add journaling right on the picture in Studio J - even change the font and color!

I also love using our new Shadow Box Frame that allows me to add some mixed-media and 3-D to make it even more interesting! Since she is wearing lace in the picture, I added a doily and handkerchief that my mom had given me, along with a journal pocket with some facts about Ethel Lee.

I can't wait to make more along these same lines. And NOVEMBER is the month to do it! What's so special about November? That's Studio J's 5 year anniversary and we are celebrating with $5 two-page layouts all month long! That's a 25% savings on every layout!

Start creating NOW so you will be ready to order in November!
I'll be back tomorrow with even MORE exciting news!

PS - I'm driving to Ohio today to deliver this to my Great Aunt - this is a portrait of her mother. I know she will love it!

Artfully Sent Noel Card and Team Meeting!

Today I had the privilege of hosting another team meeting - to gather with girls that have become sisters - to spend the day together learning, creating, eating, and laughing! (I always forget to take a picture when everyone is here!!!)

We talked about the new Artfully Sent Cricut Collection and ALL that you can create with it - from cards, to mini albums, to layouts and home decor!

Then we had lunch - a recipe I got from Jeanette Lynton's new Make It From Your Heart blog - Chicken Alfredo! You can find the recipe here. It was delicious, along with some hot rolls and a salad.

Then after a slice of cherry pie from Jessica, we settled in to make an Artfully Sent Pop-Up Card!

I began scouting out ideas on Pinterest for our card and found one created by Jody Gustafson - (you can see her card here). It's a 5 x 7 card that really has a beautiful presentation!

I love our new Glacier colored cardstock and decided to emboss a piece with the Quatrafoil Embossing Folder. Then I used one of the Pocket Cards with "noel" cut out of the center. I welded a few snowflakes onto the card in Cricut Design Space so they would leave cut outs on the card. I put some scrap pieces of silver glitter paper behind the snowfakes and left the noel open. The pocket card has a plain white card to go behind it which gives the noel a white background. Then I added a Glacier plain pocket card slightly larger as a mat underneath! A few silver sequins and some silver shimmer trim and the front is complete!!

Want to see the inside? The nativity scene just POPS OUT giving lots of dimension and depth! The inside liner is cut from Glacier cardstock and has a star cut out at the top. I simply backed the star with silver glitter paper before adding it to the white card base. And because I had the snowflakes cut out from the front of the card, I decided to use them on the inside, on a strip of silver shimmer trim at the bottom. Now the black and silver theme is more balanced inside!

The Artfully Sent cartridge will cut the tabs you need to create the pop outs for this scene. And the Cricut Explore has a stylus attachment that will score the fold lines as well, making it ever EASIER to assemble!

Trust me, this card was SO easy we were done in just minutes - instead of the usual 1-2 hours we spend on a project! You can find the pieces to make this card on pg. 46 of the Artfully Sent booklet. And you are welcome to use my Design Space file here to recreate this card yourself! (You will have to cut out the cardstock pieces from the front by hand.)

But guess what? These card pieces can EASILY be used on a layout or a home decor piece!

The Noel pocket card is the same size as I used on the card, only this time I didn't add the snowflakes. I created the text "the first" and cut it out of the grey glitter paper. I also cut out some star from the grey glitter paper and a grey glitter paper mat!

The nativity scene was cut out a little larger than the card and mounted on an 11" half circle. Sprinkle a few white enamel stars in the sky and it's done! So easy, and a beautiful home decor item for the holidays or a companion page for one of your layouts!

Here is the Design Space file for the framed artwork if you want to recreate it!
Happy Creating!

Halloween Party Treats!

So yesterday, I posted my party menu (check it out here) but today I have a few treats to share with your guests aside from the buffet items.

Your witches brew can be a punch or use these mini coke bottles!

I used both Artiste and Artbooking images for this bottle!

For the top of the bottle, I originally had a witch hat, but it looked a little dwarfed and funny, so I made a topper using one of the metal pieces from the Scaredy Cat Assortment. I put some black glitter paper under the bat metal piece to make it sparkle!

Here is the Design Space file to recreate this bottle wrap yourself!

And again, I LOVE these very economical paper bags! These are similar to the goodie bag gifts I gave my croppers last weekend. But just a little different.

Here is one with carmel corn inside and some glitter paper outside!

I simply used glitter paper, and layered cricut cuts and a stamped image from the Halloween Greetings stamp set.

Here is the Design Space File for the cricut cuts so you can recreate this bag yourself!

And finally, another witches broom! This is the original one I made the sparked the idea for my crop goodies! I love the pop of glitter paper for the border!

Here is the Design Space File to recreate this tag!

So that's it! I hope you enjoyed my Halloween Party Theme! I hope you continue to follow my blog for more creative ideas!

Halloween Party Menu and Votive Candle!

Back to the Halloween party theme…
here is a fun menu you can post by your buffet of goodies!

I LOVE this bow from the Artiste Cricut Cartridge! I even put one on the skeleton (who is also from the Artiste cartridge)! I used our purple and black glitter papers along with some purple glitter gems and black epoxy bubbles.

I layered and slightly offset two of the skeletons and the word "menu" (which I welded from the font set). One is black and one is white. It just added some much needed depth!

If I recall, I found this menu on pinterest too!

Would you like to replicate this menu? Here is the Design Space file for you to use with your Cricut Explore!

And how about spreading out a few creepy candles to add some "mood lighting"? You can easily dress up those very inexpensive votive jars from craft stores by using borders and cupcake wrappers sized down to fit the jar! Use real candles or the "safe" electronic votives!

Would you like to recreate this simple votive candle wrap? Here is the Design Space file for you!

I've got one more post for you tomorrow! Then that will wrap up my halloween party! See you then!
