Baby Blessing for Sarah!

This weekend, our church is hosting a baby blessing and shower for Sarah. This will be her 4th child, but it will be her 1st without her beloved husband.

Skip and Sarah had just found out they were pregnant again - it was a surprise. And as he was leaving for work, he said to her, "Sarah, this child will be a blessing to our family". Then on the way to work he had a massive heart attack and died. WOW!

I could write for days about how this strong, loving, godly woman has stood tall and strong through this horrendous trial! She is honest and real about her struggles, and yet the light of God shines brightly through her every move! I admire her beyond words!

Sarah announced her pregnancy with the following image on Facebook:

...so Rebecca asked me to create some "O Boy" decorations for the tables. I made 24 of them, ranging in size from 9" to 3" and I even made some confetti too! It was so easy with a Cricut machine!

So many people have contributed to make this baby blessing a huge, .......well......, BLESSING! I can't wait to share this day with Sarah!

I'm working on my card and gift next. I'll be back with more soon. In the mean time, you could lift up a prayer for Sarah and her sweet, growing family.

  3. Several years ago it was my privilege to stand beside another godly woman whose husband was killed less than a month into a year-long deployment. She had three boys, the youngest 13 months. It was both beautiful and awful to watch her deal with her grief. May God richly bless her and those of you who will stand beside her now in in the coming years.
