Blossom Club Layouts and Bonus Framed Layout!

Thanks to the incredible Brenda Rose, my clubs will be doing her Blossom Layout designs this month! Isn't it bright and fun? Reminds me of sherbet! (Yes, I'm always thinking about dessert!)

With my leftovers, I created a bonus framed layout page - for those that want to put fresh artwork in their frames!

This layout features more of the soft Glacier and Lagoon blues on this paper pack with just a hint of sunset and pear! The little squares are 2" so you can feature several little images OR use a 4x4 space or even a 4x6 space with flip flaps! There are many different photo options with this layout.

I'm also going to show how you can use the SLICE feature in the Cricut Design Space to pull the word "life" out of a pocket card image from our Artfully Sent cartridge!

Our new Coral Reef sequins are a perfect companion to these papers!

And the fun little banner at the bottom dresses up the layout perfectly!

Brushed Cricut Cake!

To round out the garden party theme with our Brushed papers, I made a cake using our Artiste Cricut Cartridge Pie shape on the Happy Birthday key on pg. 70. Inside of the pieces you can put treats for your guests to take home with them!

You can see the base shape and lid in the bottom right corner of the page.

In the front of the booklet you can see the finished shape and the cartridge also comes with a separate booklet that shows how to assemble the 3-D projects!

Once you have the shape, you can decorate it however you want to! Since this was a garden party theme, I used the overlay (from the invitation) on the outside of the pie shapes to resemble a trellis.

Of course there are plenty of flowers and the white lids are embossed with our dot embossing folder! Love the fun texture it adds!

Brushed Invitation!

 Here is the invitation I used for my garden party. It is a 6x6 card with images from the Artbooking Cartridge. The overlay is the same that used on the cake which I will post tomorrow. I also used a grass border on the card that coordinates with the grass cupcake holder on the cup!

Brushed Place Card!

Here is another of our new Designer Creations products that I used in this garden party theme!

These adorable Mini Frames come with pre-printed sturdy chipboard on the front and back, with an opening at the top or side to slide your photo or text in!

Since the red pattern didn't exactly go with my theme, I covered mine with some of the Brushed paper and added a few of the flowers that I have used throughout the party elements.

Then I slid the name card through the top!

Brushed Head Wreath!

I still have a few more garden party elements to share with you. Today I want to show you the head wreath I made!

I found a rather simple/plain garland at the craft store and used some of it on the handle of my basket of party favors (below)

And used the rest for head wreaths! Just like with scrapbooking (if I use an element on one page, I try to use it on the other page as well to balance), so also with party decor. Since I wanted to use the garland for a head wreath, I decided to use a little elsewhere also!

Brushed Button Bag!

Here is another of our Designer Creations  - a Slate Chevron Button Bag!

This bag is already decorated and ready for gift giving! But again, I decided to decorate it using our Brushed papers to fit in perfectly with the garden party theme!

I added some Artiste flowers, butterfly and sun along with a grass border, some shimmer trim and sparkle flourished!

The back is decorated with the same theme and a coordinating tag!

Even the sides are decorated! I found that liquid glass and solid surface adhesives, like xyron, work best for these kinds of projects.

This is another parting gift bag for each guest.

Brushed Cupcake Box!

For my garden party theme, I've used all of our new Designer Creations products! Here is our cupcake box that is 4" square with an insert to hold your cupcake in place! There is even a clear plastic window to showcase your treat inside!

For the garden party, I covered the diamond embossed kraft cardstock with Brused pattern paper. I cut a cricut shape out of the paper to create a shaped frame on the front of the box. And instead of putting a cupcake inside, I added some strawberry yogurt covered pretzels - that match the pink flowers on the paper!

On the top I added a bow from our Topiary Chevron ribbon, another cricut flower, and a tag using more Brushed pattern paper.

Amazing how the paper completely changes the look of the box, isn't it?

Brushed Flower Pot!

I love our Designer Creations Takeout Box, made of sturdy kraft cardstock and embossed with white hearts, this little box is perfect for gifts and themes of all kinds! But for my garden party theme, I had something different in mind....

...I turned mine into a flower pot!

I covered the side with Brushed leaf pattern paper, then I folded down the top flaps and covered them with Juniper cardstock. I embossed the flaps with our Dots Embossing Folder and punched the edge with our Scallop Border Punch.

Here is a top view of the flowers. The same shapes and colors used in my moss purse arrangement and cake.

These can be placed on the tables or down the center of a long table.

Brushed Table Setting!

I love parties, don't you? Continuing with my garden party theme, I have a table setting to share with you now.

I found a square mat of moss to use as my placemat. If you are outdoors on a picnic table, you can even use real sod! 

I cut our flowers and stems from the Artiste Cricut cartridge - the center of the flower is a 3-D flower from the Art Philosophy cartridge.

 

I tucked the knife with a napkin inside another Designer Creations Paper Bag and tied it with some Topiary Chevron Ribbon.

Here is a close up of one of the flowers.

Another trick I want to share with you is how easy it is to decorate your cups using a cupcake wrapper!  Then I set it inside of a clay pot saucer.

Brushed Party Favor Bags!

Continuing with my flower/garden party theme, what would a party be without favors??? 

I LOVE our new Designer Creations Paper Bags - they come in a 12 pack with 3 different designs in each pack! And there are 4 trendy colors available: Honey, Lagoon, Ruby, and Slate.

For my party I decided to use the honey bags and put a pack of flower seeds along with dollar store garden gloves! 

I made a couple of the same yo-yos for the bags that I made for the wall to help tie the theme together - only much smaller. I even cut strips of cardstock, ran them through a crimper for added texture and used it as filler!

Who knew paper could be so much fun??

Brushed Flower Purse!

Continuing the flower party theme, I found this adorable moss covered purse in the clearance section of Michael's. It had silk flowers in colors that totally justified it being banned to the clearance section. But the potential just called out to me and I had to take it home with me!

I quickly removed the silk flowers and replaced them with similar shapes from our Art Philosophy and Artiste cartridges and I love how it turned out!

In addition to the flat flowers, I added some 3-D flowers to the centers to make them more realistic.

If you are like me, flowers speak pure happiness! And if you don't have our Close To My Heart exclusive Cricut cartridges, you are missing out!!!

Brushed Yoyo Wall Decor!

Well, I hate to admit it, but I didn't get my Brushed cards done to share with you today. BUT, instead I am going to share some of the Brushed artwork I made for convention last year.

This was my decor for a garden party theme, or in this case, a leadership luncheon.

Let's start with wall decor! If you have ever browsed Pinterest for party theme ideas, you will have notices that it's not just about what goes on the tables anymore - it's all about creating atmosphere! Since I was using the Brushed paper for my party, I decided to pull some of the colors out and make wall yoyo's out of cardstock!

These are SO easy to make. In fact, our Artiste Cricut cartridge has several with fun designs on them! But I decided to keep it simple using cardstock, a paper cutter, and a score board!

You first want to decide how big you want your finished yoyo (or flower) to be. In this case I wanted the largest one to be a 12" yoyo so I cut strips of 6" paper and scored every 1". Then you accordian fold the strips. Overlap the strips to make one long strip. Then over lap the 2 ends to make a big circle. Here is an example using smaller strips for a previous project.

Now overlap the beginning and end to make a circle.

At this point you will need a circle just a little smaller than your yoyo. If this was a 2 1/2" finished yoyo, I would want a 2" circle. You will add a puddle of liquid glass on the circle, then center your pleated circle over the top. Gently fold in toward the center and press down into liquid glass.

You can hold it in place for about 15-20 seconds until it begins to set. I like to put a weight on top of the yoyo to ensure that it dries nice and flat.

This is the exact process, only with larger pieces of paper. I think I used 6 strips of 6" x 12" cardstock for the largest one. And since I didn't use any of the fancy cricut designs, I decided to punch the ends with our new Chevron punch to give it some pizazz! (Note: I would do this after you score but before you fold.)

Here is another one using our new Triangle punch!

On this one, I folded the strips then cut the ends at an angle to get this design.

On this one I used our corner rounder to get this scalloped design.

So easy! So inexpensive! So fun! And it makes a BIG statement when your guests walk in!
