I'm so excited!! I get to introduce the joys of papercrafting to a new group at work! I can't wait!
Our first project will be this very simple treat bag, suitable for putting in your child's lunch box, on their bed, or leaving on a co-worker's desk!
This project, although simple, incorporates a bunch of ideas/techniques! The treat bags are retired and no longer available, but I have a bunch at home - and maybe you do too! They are already decorated with a colorful design, so it doesn't take much to transform them into something special!
I've used several images from our CTMH exclusive Cricut cartridges - which instantly makes them something special! I've used a sandpaper distressing technique on the cardstock to reveal our white core and provide some interest. Then I'm showing how to add dimension and color to your stamped image by double stamping and popping up one word, phrase, or image - in this case "spooky"! I've dovetailed the ends of the spooky piece and added a circle background stamp to the grey cardstock underneath. All of these little things really add a lot to your artwork!
Of course, the Cricut spider hanging down has a black gem on his body to make him even more dimensional and real!
The coordinating tag gives your project a finished touch!
And what a surprise to open the treat bag and find that even the CANDY is decorated!! I've covered gold chocolate coins and Rolos with cricut cut pieces just for fun!
This will be a fun class to get us started! I can't wait! Are you making treat bags this year? I'd love to see what you come up with! If you would like use this idea you can access my Cricut Design Space file here!
