January Kit of the Month - Sending Hugs Card Kit

I have a simple, but fun project to start off the New Year! It is a set of 12 cards featuring a new thin cut - Sending Hugs.

The inspiration for this project was a card from our Craft With Heart subscription card program. I loved the simple background featuring the front and lighter back side of cardstock that had random tone on tone background stamping. Instead of the JOY sentiment, I added the sending hugs thin cut sentiment with a wooden heart sponged with Scarlet ink. I simply had to make more!

In order to keep this kit affordable and easy for VIP's to order, I'm using a 12 pack of custom cardstock, which will allow me to make 6 with a white stitched rectangle thin cut and black mat and 6 with a black stitched rectangle thin cut and white mat. I also chose to use the black and white acrylic hearts which are thinner than the wooden hearts and more conducive to mailing. These cards are a perfect all occasion card - they can be a get well, or sympathy, thinking of you, or just because. Any excuse to send someone a hug!

I created one card with tone on tone stamping using the Perfectly Imperfect Patterns (D2051), but found that I preferred embossing with the Cascading Dot Embossing Folder (Z3695). I even used the embossing folder on the envelope flaps - I love adding a hint of "happy" to the envelope! You can choose whether you want to stamp, emboss, ink distress, or do nothing at all to your papers! You will find each variation has its own appeal. Mix and match! You may also want to mix and match how you place the colored triangles.
